Q1. I am curious about the pop-up message exposure timing.
Q. If a specific user moves to another screen immediately after calling a trigger event, when is the pop-up message displayed? notionvc: 715074bc-bbf6-4799-a0b4-74c3ccc4cfe3
A: If a trigger event is called
, the pop-up message will be displayed even if the screen changes quickly immediately after the event is called
.
For example, let's assume the following situation:
-
Event link example
- home_view: Event called when accessing the home screen
- order_view: Event called when accessing the order screen - Pop-up message trigger event : home_view
- User movement path : Launch app โ Access home screen โ Access order screen (immediately after accessing home screen)
- Pop-up message exposure : If you quickly move to the order screen (order_view) after accessing the home screen (home_view) and before the pop-up message is displayed, you can check the pop-up message on the order screen.
[[Quote: Guide: Small]] If you set to move directly to a specific screen through a push deep link, a pop-up message will not be displayed if there are no conditions for the event on the deep link page.
Q2. More data is being exposed than the set number of exposures.
Q. We created a user-based pop-up message and set the exposure condition to 'Number of exposures per user = 1 time'.
However, I see pop-up messages more than once during the pop-up message campaign period. What is the reason?
A: DFINERY pop-up messages
ensure that the exposure conditions work for up to 10 days for each device
.
Duplicate exposure is possible
when โ . a specific campaign is stopped and reactivated after 10 days
, or
โก. when a specific user logs out for 10 days and then logs back in
. A detailed example is as follows.
Case 1) In the case of a 15-day campaign, when user A sees a pop-up message on the 1st day and logs in again 10 days later.
Case 2) When an ongoing campaign is stopped midway and reactivated after 10 days
: Likewise, DFINERY pop-up messages only store whether a pop-up has been viewed for 10 days and are reset after 10 days, so users can check the pop-up again after reactivation.
Q3. One users pop-up is displayed more than 1+n times.
Q. If a specific user, who is the target of a user-based pop-up message, is logged in on multiple devices, on which devices is the pop-up message displayed? notionvc: 477eee47-5583-4085-baff-ecc826d08851
A: If the target user is logged in on multiple devices, a pop-up message will be displayed on all devices logged in when the pop-up message campaign is live.
[[Quote:Warning:Small]] User-based audiences are pop-ups that are exposed to actual users.
There can be n devices that a user can log in to depending on the users actions.
Q4. I want to remove duplicate pop-up exposure values โโand see the report.
Q. After sending user-based pop-up messages, we check the number of impressions through reports. At this time, the number of pop-up message impressions is higher than the target audience. What is the cause? notionvc: 1d07d518-8501-4971-a4c7-4b42839c0f71
A: If one user is logged in to multiple devices as in Q3, a pop-up message will be displayed on all devices.
In these cases, the number of pop-up message impressions may be higher than the target audience.
If you need to check by removing duplicate values โโof pop-up messages exposed to specific users, you can check by setting the Unique Impression (User) metric in the Pop-up Message report.
- Report confirmation process : Analytics > Data Explorer > โ+Create New Reportโ > Select Pop-up Message
- Metrics settings:
- Impression (User): Total number of times user-based pop-up messages were exposed
- Unique Impression (User): Total number of times a user-based pop-up message was exposed, excluding duplicate exposure values โโfor each user.
-
When user A logs in to all five devices and a user-based pop-up message is displayed
- Impression (User): 5 times
- Unique Impression (User): 1 time

Q5. Is additional analysis possible based on who responded to the pop-up?
Q. Is it possible to analyze in-app actions for users who exposed/clicked the pop-up? For example, whether a user or device that responded to the A pop-up campaign generated a purchase event (abx:purchase) linked to the app.
A: Yes, you can check. If you extract only the segments that responded to the pop-up separately, add them to General event analytics, and then add group by according to your preference , you can perform cohort analysis based only on the segments that responded to the pop-up .
- Extract segments that responded to pop-ups: Audience Studio > Pop-up message/push message segment extraction [Go to pop-up message segment extraction example guide]
- Add the segment extracted in step 1 to the general event analytics report and analyze it [Go to the cohort analysis function guide]
[[Quote: Guide: Small]] Reports that check in-app actions can be analyzed as general event analytics reports. [Go to how to use the report]
